As for the report for the first half of the year, i.e. from January 2019 to June 2019, 186 million units of smartphones were shipped, which is down by 5.1 percent year-on-year. Of these, 178 million were 4G devices, down by 4.2 percent YoY and accounted for 95.6 percent of the smartphone shipments.

However, the shipments of devices from domestic brands come to 172 million units, which is down by 1.8 percent year-on-year and accounted for 92.7 percent of the total shipments in the first half of the year.

While the smartphone shipments in China is declining, the decline for the Chinese smartphone brands is lower than the overall decline of the smartphone market in China, one of the biggest markets in the world.
