Black Shark, a gaming smartphone brand backed by Xiaomi, has launched three smartphones so far. At a time when the company is gearing up to launch its fourth smartphone, it has made announced about yet another device.

Wu Shimin, Founder and CEO of Black Shark has confirmed that the company has developed a prototype 5G smartphone and has already commissioned it. He also added that the 5G smartphone from Black Shark will get launched in the first half of next year, i.e. H1 2020.

Black Shark has scheduled a launch event on 30th July in China where it will launch the Black Shark 2 Pro smartphone powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor, which is aimed at gaming smartphone.

Shedding more light about launching the Pro variant of the smartphone just a couple of months after the launch of the original one, Wu Shimin said that this is being done so that the company can keep up with the Qualcomm’s chipset upgrades.

Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone was launched earlier this year in March, featuring a 6.39-inch AMOLED TrueView display offering Full HD+ screen resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, DC dimming, Always-on Display, eye protect mode and in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone features a dual-camera module that comprises of an f/1.7 aperture 48-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. For snapping selfies, it is equipped with a 20-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and comes with two-style Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology can drop the processor’s temperate by up to 14 degrees. The SoC is supported by up to 12 GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It runs BlackShark OS flavored Android 9 Pie OS and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery that carries support for Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging.
