Huawei held an unveil event today in China to unleash the Nova 5i Pro smartphone and its Mate 20 X 5G as its first 5G smartphone. The Nova 5i Pro has been introduced as enhanced edition of the Kirin 710 powered Nova 5i smartphone that was unveiled in June. The Nova 5i Pro is fueled by the newly introduced 7nm Kirin 810 chipset. It borrows the punch-hole display from Nova 5i handset. Also, one highlight of the smartphone is that it possesses a quad camera.
Huawei Nova 5i Pro Specifications and Features
The Huawei Nova 5i Pro that comes with features glass panels on the front and rear with a metallic frame in between measures 156.1 x 73.9 x 8.3mm and it weighs 178 grams. The 6.26-inch display with punch-hole design offers 1080 x 2340 pixels full HD+ resolution. The smartphone that boasts a high screen specs offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is TUV Rheinland certified. It is designed to protect the eyes of the users from the blue rays released by the screen.
The 7nm Kirin 810 chipset that includes a 2.27GHz octa-core processor powers the 6 GB and 8 GB RAM editions of the Nova 5i Pro. These models are respectively equipped with 128 GB and 256 GB of native storage. The smartphone features a hybrid SIM slot for extending its storage.
The EMUI 9.1 flavored Android 9 Pie OS runs on the Nova 5i Pro. There is GPU Turbo 3.0 onboard for smoother gaming experience. The quad camera setup placed on the backside of the Nova 5i Pro features an f/1.8 aperture 48-megapixel primary lens, a 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a dedicated macro camera and another 2-megapixel lens for adding depth effects. The punch-hole present on the screen is the home for f/2.0 aperture 32-megapixel selfie camera. The front and rear cameras are equipped with 4-in-1 pixel binning technology for brighter shots in low-light scenarios. The other photography features of the Nova 5i Pro include portrait mode, AI beautification, AI scene recognition, HDR and so on.
The Nova 5i Pro houses a 4,000mAh battery. It carries support for 22.5W fast charging through USB-C. The other features available on the smartphone include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack.
Huawei Nova 5i Pro Price and Availability
The Nova 5i Pro comes in three choices such as Midnight Black, Aurora and Emerald Green. The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition of the smartphone costs 2,199 Yuan (~$319) in China. The higher 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variants cost 2,499 Yuan (~$363) and 2,799 Yuan (~$407). Huawei will be carrying out the first sales of the Nova 5i Pro from Aug. 2.
