A leaked invitation of the upcoming Realme 64-megapixel quad camera phone was spotted yesterday that revealed that company will be making it official on Aug. 15. Today, the Chinese firm has released an official confirmation that reveals that it will be indeed announcing the smartphone on the same date. Unfortunately, the name of the device is still a secret.

The below shown poster states that the Realme Summer Video Technology Communication Meeting will be held on Aug. 15. An image of a rear camera unit of the upcoming Realme phone reveals that it features four camera sensors. Among them, the primary lens will of 64-megapixel. The smartphone will launch first in India since the Indian wing of the company had confirmed in earlier this week it will be unleashing a 64-megapixel quad camera in the country on Aug. 8.

The mystery Realme phone from the company is expected to feature the Samsung GW1 64-megapixel sensor that has a large size of 1/1.72”. It can capture 64-megapixel selfie shots with a maximum resolution of 9216 x 6912 pixels. Powered with Samsung’s 4-in-1 pixel binning capabilities called Tetracell technology, the 64-megapixel GW1 sensor can snap 16-megapixel resolution images in dim-light conditions.

Realme’s 64-megapixel quad camera phone will be rivaling with Redmi’s 64-megapixel quad camera smartphone that will go official tomorrow. The name of the Redmi device with 64-megapixel lens is also under the wraps. Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing had confirmed yesterday that the company is working on Redmi Note 8 series. Hence, its unclear whether the Redmi Note 8 or some other device could be equipped with a 64-megapixel camera. Some reports have claimed that the Realme’s 64-megapixel camera phone could be the Realme 5 Pro smartphone.
