HMD Global has followed up its Nokia 2 V Android smartphone available on Verizon Wireless in the US with the new Nokia 3 V. The phone is HMD Global’s first post-paid device on the network and will be exclusive to Verizon.

The Nokia 3 V is actually a rebranded Nokia 3.2 just as the Nokia 2 V is a rebranded Nokia 2.1. The phone will sell for $168, much more than its $139 launch price back in February.

The phone packs a massive 6.2-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the Snapdragon 429 processor which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. A 4000mAh battery provides up to 2 days of battery life.

There is a 13MP f/2.2 camera on the back of the phone along with a fingerprint scanner (not shown in the promotional image). It also has a 5MP selfie camera with support for Face Unlock. The phone also has a dedicated Google Assistant button.

HMD Global says the Nokia 3 V will receive two OS upgrades and will receive security updates for 18 months. It runs Android 9 Pie out of the box, so it should get Android Q and Android R, however, the updates will most likely not arrive in time.

The official press statement recommends the phone for professionals too as it is on the Android Enterprise Recommended Devices list.

The Nokia 3 V will be available in blue (no gray and black) when it goes on sale on August 23 for $7 a month for 24 months. If you are interested, you can pick up a uni at Verizon storer or on VerizonWireless.com.
