HMD Global has followed up its Nokia 2 V Android smartphone available on Verizon Wireless in the US with the new Nokia 3 V. The phone is HMD Global’s first post-paid device on the network and will be exclusive to Verizon.
The Nokia 3 V is actually a rebranded Nokia 3.2 just as the Nokia 2 V is a rebranded Nokia 2.1. The phone will sell for $168, much more than its $139 launch price back in February.
The phone packs a massive 6.2-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the Snapdragon 429 processor which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. A 4000mAh battery provides up to 2 days of battery life.
There is a 13MP f/2.2 camera on the back of the phone along with a fingerprint scanner (not shown in the promotional image). It also has a 5MP selfie camera with support for Face Unlock. The phone also has a dedicated Google Assistant button.
HMD Global says the Nokia 3 V will receive two OS upgrades and will receive security updates for 18 months. It runs Android 9 Pie out of the box, so it should get Android Q and Android R, however, the updates will most likely not arrive in time.
