Earlier this year, in June, Huawei launched its mid-range smartphone named Huawei Maimang 8 in its home country China. With a price tag of 1,899 Yuan (~$275), the phone was available in Magic Night Black and Blue Sapphire colors.

Today, the company has introduced a new color option for the Huawei Maimang 8 — Aurora Blue. It is a gradient color with a combination of teal and dark blue running from top to bottom. This new color variant is now available for purchase in China for a price of 1,699 yuan, which roughly converts to $237.

Coming to the specifications, the smartphone comes equipped with a 6.21-inch display having a waterdrop notch that houses the front-facing camera. The IPS LCD screen offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution as well as 89 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is also TUV Rheinland certified, protecting the eyes of the users from fatigue by obstructing the blue rays.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 710 chipset and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For additional storage, there’s also dedicated microSD card slot with support for up to 512GB.

In terms of optics, the device features a vertical triple camera setup, consisting of a 24-megapixel primary sensor along with 16-megapixel super-wide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, it features an 8-megapixel snapper. The photography features offered by the Maimang 8 include AI scene recognition, 480 fps slow-motion video recording, handheld night scene and so on.

The phone is running Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own EMUI 9 on top. It also comes with GPU Turbo technology that enhances the graphics capabilities. It is powered by a 3,400mAh battery with 10W charging support.
