It’s been four years already since Xiaomi started releasing products under the MIJIA and later Youpin crowdfunding platform. The Chinese company has now launched the 396th product under the crowdfunding platform and it is the Wiha Electric screwdriver. The product is manufactured by Wiha Tools, a renowned manufacturer of hand tools for use in trade and industry, with its headquarters in Schonach im Schwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The company has over 80 years of experience in manufacturing high-quality tools.

The Wiha electric screwdriver is powered by a strong magnetic motor. It brings ease to work and removes the cumbersome work of manually screwing the screws, thus saving time and effort and delivers twice the result with half the effort.

The handle adopts an ergonomic eight-sided shape like an octagon. The design makes it easy for the palm to grip the handle brings comfort and powerful grip with low effort. This version comes with two LED lights on the front of the main unit. When working, the light is on making it suitable for use in a dark area. In addition, the Wiha Electric screwdriver comes with a 105mm detachable extension rod for narrow space operation. With different kinds of batch heads, the screwdriver has a wider range of applications. All the batches of screw heads have a magnetic force. The electric motor is driven by a built-in high-performance 18650 power lithium battery with a capacity of 1500mAh. The battery requires 1.5 hours to achieve a full charge. There two different batches of screw heads supporting two different torques – 0.4Nm and 1Nm. The batch with a green color ring operates under the maximum of 0.4Nm torque. On the other hand, the batch with an orange color ring spin with 1Nm torque. In order to prevent slipping when the screw is fastened before maximum torque is achieved, there is a self-locking feature. This prevents the screwdriver from continuing to spin which could damage other parts when it slips or could wear the screw.

The Wiha Electric Screwdriver is expected to start shipping on October 9 in China.
