OPPO will soon join the likes of Xiaomi and Realme when it announces its own Snapdragon 665 smartphone. The phone which is called the OPPO A9 2020 has already been teased by OPPO Vietnam. The smartphone not only comes with a Snapdragon 665 processor but also packs some impressive specs in other areas.

The OPPO A9 2020 is shown to have a display with a waterdrop notch while the back is home to quad cameras in a similar design to the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Below three of the cameras sits a fingerprint scanner.

The teaser poster says the OPPO A9 will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, it is a separate Facebook post that reveals it is powered by a Snapdragon 665 processor. The poster also reveals the phone has a 5000mAh battery and a 48MP quad-camera system. It also shows the phone will be available in two color variants revealed to be Marine Green and Space Purple.

In a series of leaks, Sudhanshu Ambhore reveals more details about the device. In one tweet, he reveals the phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 1600 x 720 resolution. There is a 16MP camera inside the notch and the primary rear cameras is a 48MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP camera and two 2MP sensors. We believe the 2MP sensors are for depth capturing and macro photography. He also revealed the phone weighs 195 grams.

In another tweet, he shared TENAA images of the phone as well as dimensions. The OPPO A9 2020 measures 163.6 x 75.6 x 9.1 millimeters and its model number is revealed to be PCHM30.

OPPO has not yet announced a launch date but it should be close seeing as the manufacturer has been posting teasers.

If you do not fancy the Mi A3, the OPPO A9s may be a good alternative as long as the price is right. It already beats the Mi A3 in battery capacity and RAM, all OPPO needs to do is give it an affordable price tag.
