Android 10, which was known as Android Q earlier, is expected to start rolling out to Google Pixel series smartphones from tomorrow but it will be a long wait for most of the Android smartphone users before they get this latest update.

OnePlus, which has been a part of Android Q Beta program, has started rolling out Android Q Developer Preview 5 for the users of OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro smartphones, which is based on Android Q Beta 6.

The changelog for the new update reveals that this new version comes with improved system functionality and stability. It also adds OnePlus’ full-screen gesture navigation. To install this update, OnePlus is recommending that the battery level of the OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro should be above 30 percent and a minimum of 3 GB of storage is available before flashing this update to the smartphone.

Given that this is a Developer Preview, the build is not stable for the day-to-day usage. There are a few known issues, mainly being the app compatibility problems and well as issues related to the Google Pay app. Some users are also reporting system lag and stability issues from time to time.

As per the reports, this Android Q Developer Preview 5 could to be the last developer preview for the OP7 and 7 Pro smartphones and after this, the company should start rolling out the stable Android 10 build. However, do keep in mind that the company has not officially acknowledged this.

There are reports claiming that OnePlus wants to be among the first to offer software update shortly after Google releases it. What remains to be seen is if OnePlus is able to pull it off this time. Stay tuned for that.
