In February this year, Xiaomi launched its own version of the Google Hub – the XiaoAI smart touchscreen speaker. The design was the usual minimalist one but the quality is topnotch. The XiaoAI speaker has clinched two different international awards as a result of its amazing design.
The speaker was one of the winning products for the 2019 German Red Dot Design award announced on July 30. Again, the XiaoAI Touchscreen speaker also won the 2019 US Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA) recently.
The XiaoAI touchscreen smart speaker is very much different from its predecessors in terms of the design as it comes with a touchscreen display. The device features a 4-inch display which has space for a custom digital clock. The display can also be used to select music and watch videos and a variety of apps can be installed on the device. it also comes with an alarm clock. The smart speaker will come with a large number of video resources as well as Tencent’s Q music library. The XiaoAI smart speaker can also be integrated with a host of smart home gadgets such as the smart cameras, smart doorbells and several others.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi is yet to integrate the English or any other language apart from Chinese into its smart assistant so this speaker is just useless to non-Chinese speakers. However, we believe the company has got plans to integrate other languages in the near future.
