After teasing the Realme Q smartphone for a few weeks, the Oppo-backed company has today finally launched it in its home country China. As expected, the Realme Q is a re-branded model of the Realme 5 Pro smartphone that was launched in India last month featuring a quad-camera setup.

The Realme Q boasts a 6.5-inch waterdrop-notch IPS Full HD+ LCD display which offers screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The handset promises a screen-to-body ratio of 90.6 percent.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 octa-core processor. The phone comes in three different variants based on the memory configuration — 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.

Coming to the camera configuration, the device features a quad-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary camera sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 119-degree field-of-view and f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel ultra-macro lens with 4cm focal length and f/2.4 aperture.

On the front side, the smartphone features Sony IMX471 16-megapixel camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The phone’s camera comes with feature like Chroma Boost, Nightscape Mode, PDAF, EIS, 960fps slow-motion video shooting, and 4K video recording at 30fps.

As for the software, the smartphone runs ColorOS 6 which is based on Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box. It also comes features like HyperBoost 2.0 along with SystemBoost, GameBoost, and AppBoost for enhanced performance.

Connectivity options on the device include Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C port. The device is powered by a 4,035mAh battery which also comes with support for 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology.

The Realme Q comes in two color options — Diamond Green and Drill Blue. The base model with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at 998 Yuan (approximately $140) while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant costs 1,198 Yuan (approximately $168). The top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at 1,498 Yuan, which roughly converts to $210. All three models are now available for pre-order in China.
