Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is currently developing the next version of its custom Android user interface which will be called MIUI 11. The company’s product director recently hinted that the launch of the new custom ROM isn’t far off. The new version is expected to come with several improvements over the MIUI 10.

Now, ahead of its official announcement, Xiaomi accidentally rolled out MIUI 11 for a handful of devices, including the Redmi K20 Pro, Mi Mix 2S, and Mi 6, giving us an early look at the upcoming custom skin.

MIUI 11 Leak

The company had revealed that the MIUI 11 will come with new iconography, which is visible in the leaked images. The icons are more colorful, but there doesn’t seem to be consistency in size or shape unlike stock Android 10.

Also, Xiaomi seems to have updated the design as well. The motto for the upcoming UI is “Empowering the productive”, and thus, the company has opted to offer a lot of white space and big, bold text throughout.

Coming to the features, the new MIUI will come with the cross-device file sharing service which was recently announced in a collaboration between Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. Also, the Always-on Display features include changing the text color automatically over time, adding a Kaleidoscope-style, an outer space style that changes the light depending on the sunrise/sunset schedule at your location, and more customization options.

It seems like the leaked MIUI 11 for Xiaomi devices is an early pre-release build, so there’s a possibility that the final build could come with other new features as well. We are also expecting the company to introduce Ad Switch in the new MIUI, as Xoaomi has promised.
