Earlier today, Huawei launched the Nova 5T in China. The company was asked about the current state of operations, and were given pretty concrete answers. According to Huawei, although they’re facing taller hurdles and big challenges, their global sales are still going fairly strong.
He Honglu, vice president of Huawei’s consumer business Greater China, said that despite the grim situation, Huawei has still maintained rapid growth in the international market. In the first half of 2019, global shipments reached 118 million units, an increase of 24% over the same period in 2018. They already account for 17.6% of the global phone market.

In the Hong Kong market, Huawei’s also be growing pretty well. In the first eight months of 2019, Huawei’s mobile phone market share in Hong Kong averaged 22.8%, sales increased by more than 40% year-on-year, and the sales growth rate of new products such as smart watches and wearable devices reached 110%.
He Honglu also admitted that Huawei has faced many uncertainties and challenges recently. Some suppliers of parts and components needed to be changed, which has led to some planned product launches being postponed. Unfortunately, they didn’t tell us anything about the Huawei Mate 30 Pro’s projected sales, though we can only assume things aren’t great.
