5G technology is still at its infancy as the service just started rolling out in some countries like China and the US. The next-gen technology is expected to blossom next year. Notwithstanding, we have seen a couple of discussions centred on 6G technology. Vivo has just ignited yet another discussion with its latest patent application.6G

The Chinese smartphone maker recently applied to have a design for its 6G logo registered by the EU Intellectual Property Office. The application was filed on October 22 and it is basically a customization of the characters – 6G. The design saw the 6G characters decorated with four diagonal stripes designed in such a way to depict the supersonic speed of 6G.

6G standard isn’t expected to be completed before 2030 and will bring even faster network speed. The read speed is said to reach 1TB per second with zero latency. At present, Vivo is one of the leading firms in 6G technology research and development, participating in the industry’s B5G / 6G seminar. The company has established many partnerships on cutting-edge 6G technology research with many universities. Apart from Vivo, Chinese tech giant Huawei has also commenced work on 6G, according to a statement by its found Ren Zhengfei.
