Earlier in April this year, Xiaomi had launched the Star Trang Telescope. The tech giant has now crowdfunded a new model SCTW-70 with a 70mm aperture lens, having a focal length of 500mm as well as a matching aspheric 4mm eyepiece which can achieve up to 125x zoom. The device comes with a cheaper crowdfunding price of 369 yuan ($52).
The Xiaomi Star Trang SCTW-70 Telescope comes with a two-stage stainless steel tripod which is sturdy and durable, giving it good stability. It is especially suitable for observing ultra-long distance (lunar pit, sunspot, etc). Some ordinary astronomical telescopes, due to poor stability of the stent, can cause eye fatigue and even dizziness when viewing. There are also accessory discs which prevent the eyepieces and accessories from getting damaged. There is equally a carry backpack with custom-built pearl cotton lining for better protection of the telescope. The backpack also has double webbing handles for a more comfortable grip.
This telescope is also very simple to assemble. The main mirror, eyepiece, finder and other accessories are assembled by all-metal die-casting brackets and then fastened with matching screws. The whole telescope can be installed in just one or two minutes. The focal length adjustment device is designed with an accurate scale, and the nut is gently screwed.

The SCTW-70 telescope’s main lens uses a 70mm double lens. The telescope objective lens is a high-quality glass lens with a full-surface multi-layer coating which effectively improves the optical performance of the lens. The image reproduction is truly sharp. The finder, the zenith mirror and the bracket AZ theodolite also come standard with the favourite brackets for mobile phone photography, allowing users to record the more beautiful and realistic scenery on their mobile phones.
