At today’s event in Europe, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 8T, a slight refresh to the Redmi Note 8 which is sold in China, India, and some other countries. This phone will be exclusive to Europe.

When it comes to design, the Redmi Note 8T is no different from the Redmi Note 8. It has Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides, a waterdrop notch in the display and quad rear cameras. It also has a splash-resistant nano-coating. The phone is available in three colors – Starscape Blue, Moonlight White, and Moonshade Gray.

The Redmi Note 8T has a 6.3-inch FHD+ in-cell LCD display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display has Sunlight Mode, Night Mode, and Reading Mode. It also has support for color temperature adjustment.

There is a Snapdragon 665 processor inside and it comes in two configurations – 4GB RAM + 64GB and 4GB RAM + 128GB. There is support for storage expansion (256GB max.)

Redmi Note 8T camera

On the back of the Redmi Note 8T is a quad-camera system. A 48MP Samsung GM1 primary camera + 8MP 120° ultrawide angle camera + 2MP depth sensor + 2MP Macro camera. The front of the phone is home to a 13MP selfie camera with AI beautify, AI portrait mode, panorama selfie, and Face Unlock.

Xiaomi says it has increased the earpiece volume by 40% and the speaker is now louder with its 0.93cc speaker cavity.

The Redmi Note 8T differs mainly from the Redmi Note 8 in two ways. First, it has NFC which is a required feature in Europe. It also ships with an 18W charger to charge the 4000mAh battery. The phone has an IR blaster, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.

The Redmi Note 8T is priced at €199 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB version but the price of the 128GB model wasn’t revealed. The phone will be available for purchase in Spain and in Italy on November 8, in France on November 13, and in Germany on November 15. It will also be sold in the UK, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands but the dates weren’t revealed.
