Japan Softbank Group has announced that it will launch a smart robot vacuum developed by China’s Xiaomi ecological chain startup Roborock Technology Co., Ltd. The product will be the first batch of IoT products that would be launched by Softbank which also unveiled its partnership with two other Chinese startups – Yeelight and Smartmi for IoT products.

The vacuum cleaner that was launched is the latest Roborock S6 which made its first debut earlier this year. The smart robot vacuum cleaner is the successor of the Roborock S5 which was widely received when it was launched last year.  The Roborock S6 is designed to keep the room spotlessly clean as it comes with several innovative and topnotch features. The vacuum cleaner comes with a radically overhauled Roborock AI mapping tech 1.0 which determines the best route in real-time, making it 20 percent more efficient than its predecessor, the Roborock S5. Its advanced mapping enables you to set a schedule for each room with just one click.

Further, the Roborock S6 performs a myriad of functions including mopping, sweeping, and does both simultaneously as well. It comes with a bionic 140ml tank that allows you to adjust the water volume and a powerful motor that delivers 2000pa strong suction for superior cleaning.

Speaking during the announcement of the partnership, SoftBank’s senior vice president of consumer business and new business said that the partnership aims to promote the development of the Japanese Internet of Things (IoT) sector. “Japan has performed poorly in the world of IoT products, and the Internet of Things business has lagged behind the United States for five years,” he said.
