The Realme 5 is about getting an upgraded version in the Realme 5s that should launch very soon. That has not stopped the brand from pushing the latest update to its older models. The Realme has reportedly released a new update for the Realme 5. The new firmware brings along the October 2019 security patch to the smartphone.Realme 5

The new firmware comes with the version number RMX1911EX_11_A.18 and perhaps, the most spectacular features it brings along is a system-wide dark mode. This feature is already available on the Realme 1, U1, 5 Pro, X, XT, and the Realme 3 Pro.

Additionally, the update ushers in the ability to record videos using the phone’s 8MP ultrawide angle camera. It also lets users expand the notification bar with a swipe down gesture on the home screen. Other new features include;

  • Improved the brightness of rear main camera
  • Optimized low light scene shooting for rear portrait mode
  • Improved preview clarity of rear camera
  • Optimized the issue of noise on the subject’s face with front and rear camera
  • Optimized low light scene shooting for rear portrait mode

It also brings along bug fixes such as the issue of battery that cannot be fully charged.

As for the update schedule, the company says it will roll out in stages. First, a limited number of users will receive it. Thereafter, the update will roll out to a broader audience in a few days time if there is no bugs detection.
