Xiaomi recently introduced a new color variant for the Redmi Note 8 smartphone — Nebula Purple. Now, the company has teased the Cosmic Purple color variant in the Indian market but has not yet revealed the launch date.
For those who are unaware, the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones were launched in India last month. The Redmi Note 8 was made available in Neptune Blue, Moonlight White and Space Black colors.
The smartphone features a 6.3-inch display with waterdrop notch. The IPS LCD screen supports full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The front and rear sides of the Redmi Note 8 are reinforced with Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 mobile platform. Its highest variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also comes wuth a microSD card slot that enables users to further expand the storage capacity.

As for the cameras, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the back side, the phone features a quad camera system with a 48-megapixel primary lens with f/1.79 aperture, a 120-degree 8-megapixel superwide lens, a 2-megapixel super macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The phone features a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and carries support for face unlock. It also runs MIUI 10 custom user interface which is based on Android 9 Pie operating system and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 in this new Cosmic Purple color option will be available for purchase in India from 29th November at 12:00 PM. The phone’s pricing starts at ₹9,999 in India.
