Samsung introduced the Galaxy Fold foldable phone in India at the beginning of October at a hefty price of Rs. 1,64,999 (~$2,302), making it the most expensive smartphones from the chaebol. The device went on sale in India from Oct. 20. Now, almost two months after the Fold was launched in India, Samsung is offering a discount on the product.

The latest report on 91mobiles claims Samsung is offering a Rs. 7,000 (~$98) discount on the device at offline stores across the country, effectively bringing the price down to Rs. 1,57,999 (~$2205). The device still retails at pre-discounted prices on Samsung’s online store at the time of publication.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Specifications and Features

Galaxy Fold 4G

The Samsung Galaxy Fold flaunts a primary 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED QXGA+ display on the inside and a secondary 4.6-inch Super AMOLED HD+ display on the outside. The device draws power from a 2.8GHz Snapdragon 855 SoC with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of native storage. 

In terms of optics, the Galaxy Fold features a total of six sensors, including two 12-megapixel lenses on the outside, which is accompanied by a 16-megapixel sensor. There is a 10-megapixel selfie sensor on the front, along with an 8-megapixel lens. The Galaxy Fold also features a 10-megapixel camera above the smaller display on the inside. 

The Galaxy Fold foldable smartphone draws power from a 4,380mAh battery and runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based One UI. Security measures include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock. The Samsung Galaxy Fold is available in Space Silver and Cosmos Black. It ships with the wireless Galaxy Buds, which cost Rs. 9,990 (~$140) when purchased separately.
