Previously, we had covered Samsung‘s roadmap for updating its existing lineup of smartphones with the latest Android 10 OS based One UI 2. The list included many other devices as well that were slated to receive the update in early 2020. However, a few of the devices were ahead of schedule when the company started rolling out updates earlier this month. These handsets are now also joined by the Galaxy S10 series.

According to the original schedule, the Galaxy S10 series, which includes the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e, were all set to receive the Android 10 update in January 2020. But similar to the Galaxy Note 10 series, the 2019 flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech giant has already started receiving the major update in the US.

Samsung’s One UI is the company’s custom skin which is based on Google‘s Android OS. The latest version which is currently being rolled out in the US carries the second iteration of the skin; which brings a bunch of new features and upgrades along with it. Currently, the Galaxy S10 series is receiving the new update for its Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile models, with AT&T reportedly soon to follow.

Being a major update, the new software includes the December security patches alongside the One UI 2 upgrade. Notably, the update roll out is occurring in a staggered manner. In other words, it is yet to arrive on every handset, so don’t worry if you haven’t immediately received the update. It will soon be available to a broader userbase and will arrive with a download size upwards of 2GB.
