Airtel, one of the leading telecom network operator in India, recently started offering VoWiFi calling feature to its users in select circle and it plans to expand the offering to other circles in the country soon.

However, not all the smartphones are compatible to make use of this Wi-Fi calling feature. Initially, only 24 smartphones were compatible with the new feature introduced by Airtel. Now, Xiaomi has added VoWiFi calling support to three more devices.

Redmi K20 Pro Review

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has today announced that Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro, and Poco F1 smartphones now have support for Wi-Fi calling. So, if you have any of these phones and an Airtel connection, you can make use of the feature to make clearer calls.

Do note that the VoWiFi support comes with the latest MIUI 11 update that these devices have received. If you have not yet received the MIUI 11 update, you should check for system updates and download it. Users will then have to enable the support for VoWiFi calls from the Settings menu. Once the VoLTE is enabled on the smartphone, you need to go to SIM Card & Networks and look for Airtel SIM and then head over to Make Calls using Wi-Fi and turn it ON.

To make calls using VoWiFi, you also need to connect to an Airtel broadband network. Once the connection is secure, you can simply make your call and the device will latch on to the broadband network to conduct the call. So currently, in order to use the VoWiFi network, you need to have an Airtel SIM card and an Airtel broadband network at your place.
