The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released a list of the top 10 Chinese software companies for 2019. The list is the 18th one they have released since they began ranking the companies.
At the top of the list is none other than Huawei Technologies, taking the top spot for the 18th time. They are followed by Haier Group and Alibaba Cloud Computing Co. Ltd. Inspur Group, a large-scale IT enterprise and leader in cloud computing comes in at the fourth spot while Hisense Group takes the 5th position.
Xiaomi makes it to the top 10 for the very first time and sits at the 7th spot. The mobile giant invested a lot in AI and IoT last year and that has propelled it from the 11th spot it occupied last year. China UnionPay Co. Ltd follows behind at the 8th position while Nanrui Electric Co. Ltd sits at the 9th position. E-commerce giant, Beijing Jingdong, clinches the 10th position.
Other familiar names on the list include DJI which sits at the 42nd spot. According to the Weibo account that posted images of the list, Vivo sits at the 79th spot, a massive fall from its previous position of 42nd last year, while its sister company, OPPO, did not make the list this year.
