After the recent epidemic caused by the Coronavirus outbreak, OEMs have been offering special incentives to its customers. One of which is the extension of warranties that brands like Apple and Oppo are offering in the country. Now, iQOO is following a similar plan and has also launched an extended warranty service.

Feng Yufei, the Vice President of the iQOO, a subsidiary of Vivo, shared the news regarding the warranty extension online. The senior executive took to Weibo, the Chinese microblogging website, to announce that iQOO is extending the warranty by 90 days. In other words, if iQOO users’ smartphones expire before 31st March 2020, then the warranty will be extended by 90 days.

Furthermore, the company will provide after-sales services for this and also offer two way shipping for free pick up/delivery alongside free repairs as well. These repairs will also have official technicians disinfect the device before the return of the customer’s smartphones, which is being done to avoid the further spreading of the Coronavirus.

For those unaware, a new breed of Coronavirus had originated from the Wuhan city in China and has since caused upwards of 1,500 deaths with more infected in the country as well as overseas. Symptoms of the infection are quite similar to a common cold with fever being a common sign, while the virus is also known to cause pneumonia in its victims.

Thus, the offer from iQOO is great news for the users of its brand in the Southeast Asian country. The disinfection of handsets prevents any more cases of infection while the free pick up/delivery scheme alongside the additional 90 days of warranty is a great offering.
