US watchmaker Timex began manufacturing watches in 1854 and has over the decades built a reputation for itself. In a bit to keep up with the trend, the company has just launched its first smartwatch dubbed Ironman R300. The wearable industry is growing and smart products hold sway in this aspect with Apple’s Watch series at the helm.
Timex’s Ironman R300 smartwatch is a GPS-packing smartwatch that offers all the key features you’ll find in a typical fitness tracker. It packs a touchscreen display and offers features such as an always-on display, GPS, speed and distance tracking, phone calls, and the ability to upload workout data – in the past. The watch also comes with a heart rate sensor, sleep tracker and uses digital watch faces.
In addition, Timex says the smartwatch provides guided workouts from “top athletes and coaches”. The battery life is another incredible aspect as it offers up to a lengthy 25 days of battery life, most likely on standby. The battery life reduces to 20 hours if the GPS is turned on. The watch also comes with water-resistance up to 30 meters, meaning you can take it for a swim and use under wet conditions. 
As for the pricing and availability, the Timex Ironman R300 GPS is available now on Timex’s website for $120. The watch uses soft silicone rubber strap and is available in Black and Grey straps.
