The OxygenOS custom skin which OnePlus smartphone feature has been touted to be one of the best Android skins out there. Some even go as far as to say that its aesthetics, customizability, and functions are better than even the vanilla version of Android. Now, to further improve its software and to better listen to community feedback, OnePlus has launched the IDEAS platform.
Historically, OnePlus has often worked closely with its community and customers feedback, actively running a robust OnePlus community app and website as well. It even hosts regular Open Ears forums for discussions from around the world and engages with their user base for additional feedback. But the Chinese company is now taking this a step further with the IDEAS program.
According to a recent post on OnePus forums, the IDEAS program allows users to share feedback“ on how they wish to improve OnePlus products. This includes OxygenOS and unlike other feedback channels, the new platform is freer with its approach and is even taking users’ opinions and tips as well. In other words, one can comment on an idea or show their support for one through a voting system. The global beta for the IDEAS platform has already kicked off and various users have been invited to submit ideas related to software improvements.

For those interested in actively participating, you will need to have a OnePlus community account to log in and submit your ideas. The company has even left additional guidance and tips on how to navigate and submit tips on the official webpage itself. One can also vote for other people’s ideas and comments and the best and most popular ideas might get featured in a future update.
The IDEAS program will run from the 5th March to 30th April 2020. Every two weeks, the ideas and tips will be reviewed and the selection process will be undertaken. The entire process will be through a rounds structure with a total of 4 rounds. In each of these rounds, the top 5 ideas in every round will move on ahead to the next round. After this, OnePlus’ product team will review the selected ideas and discuss them with users before settling on an idea for the software R&D team. Winners of the IDEAS program will receive different tiers of rewards, including:
