The service is called SberCloud.Advanced and will target clients that are small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and even start ups. In other words, the cloud services are not directly targetted towards customers but through clients that might use their services in the country. These clients will have access to 37 new cloud services servers which will be integrated into a single streamlined system.

According to Wang Wei, Huawei’s Director General in Russia, the partnership with Sberbank is likely to notably advance Russia’s digital prospects. In other words, boost its e-commerce presence in a global sense. He also stated that “this partnership truly represents a landmark for the Russian cloud services market.” In recent years, the Sberbank has been steadily transforming itself into an online service provider alongside its banking services. Thus, it marks a bold shift, especially from a state run organization.
