A new smartphone that has model number of EBG-AN00 and EBG-AN10 has been approved by the 3C authority of China. It is yet to be confirmed whether it is a Huawei or Honor smartphone. Apart from bagging 3C certification, multiple variants of the device were previously spotted at the database of Bluetooth SIG regulatory body few weeks ago.

The EBG-AN00 / AN10 is a 5G phone that has been certified with HW-100400C01 that supports 40W fast charging. It is the same charger that the Chinese firm will be shipping with the Huawei P40 series that is slated to go official on March 26.

Some reports have claimed that the codenames of the Honor 30 phones are based on the universities of the U.K. The model number of last year’s Honor V30 was OXF-AN00. It is said that “OXF” is based on the name of Oxford University.

Yesterday, the alleged Honor 30 phone with model number BMH-AN10 was approved by 3C authority in China. The 5G phone is also expected to arrive with a 40W fast charger. It is speculated that it could be the Honor 30 5G phone and the “BHM” text could be based on the name of Birmingham University. Also, the newly found EBG-AN00 / AN10 could be based on Edinburgh University. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know whether BHM-XXXX and EBG-XXXX will really end up as Honor 30 series phones.

Last year’s Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro were shipped with 22.5W fast charger. On the other hand, the Honor 30 and 30 Pro may arrive with 40W fast charging support. Rumors have it that the Honor 30 series will break cover at some time in April to rival with OnePlus 8 series that is speculated to launch in the second week of the same month.
