The OnePlus flagship series from 2017, namely OnePlus 5 and 5T, are now receiving a new OxygenOS update. The build v9.0.11 arrives with a few minor upgrades alongside the security patch for February 2020.

Back in 2018, the company had announced its update schedule which stated that every smartphone will receive at least two major Android updates along with 3 years of security patch support. This implies that the OnePlus 5 series effectively saw its Android upgrade service end by November 2019 and security patch cycles end by November 2020.

However, OnePlus included the flagship series from 2017 in its Android 10 update list, which was highly appreciated. In other words, the OnePlus 5 series would receive Android 10 by Q2 of 2020. But before this major upgrade the smartphone, the company has still decided to keep the security patches of both smartphone up to date with its recent OxygenOS build v9.0.11.

In the new update, OnePlus brings the usual “system stability and bug fixes” alongside the new security patches. Although both smartphones received the same build version, differences in the download sizes may arrive both the base and higher T variant. As of right now, the update is being rolled out in a staggered manner. Meaning, a few users will receive the update before the majority in a random fashion. However, for those that can’t wait, here are the respective download links for the new update.
