Last year, there were some new players in the smart TV market and all of them are brands that are associated with mobile phones. The list includes Huawei, Honor, OnePlus, Motorola, and Nokia. The first Nokia smart TV was borne from a licensing deal between Flipkart and Nokia that allows the former to launch smart TVs with the Nokia brand name just the way HMD Global launches phones with the Nokia brand name.

The first Nokia smart TV packs a 55-inch 4K display with JBL speakers and an INR 41,999 (~$566) price tag. That sure is pricey compared to the TVs from Xiaomi. Now Flipkart has announced that it plans to launch a more affordable 43-inch model.

Nokia TV 43-inch

The 43-inch Nokia TV will have slim bezels on three of its sides according to a poster said to be that of the TV. The bottom is thicker because of the speakers which are also made by JBL. Just like the 55-inch model, it will run Android TV 9 with support for Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in. It will also have Dolby Audio and DTS Surround Sound.

With respect to price, the TV is rumored to cost INR 30,999 (~$418). That sure isn’t cheap compared to Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4X 43-inch model that launched for INR 24,999 (~$337) last September.

There is no info on when the launch will be but it probably won’t be a big announcement like the first model.
