In order to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country, the Indian government has imposed a country-wide lockdown for 21 days. During this situation, several smartphone brands, including OnePlus, Huawei, Realme, and OPPO have extended the warranties on their products in India as well as some other regions.

These four companies have extended warranties on their smartphones, along with extended validities on services such as screen replacements, among others.

Huawei Warranty Extension

OnePlus has announced that it is extending the warranty of its smartphones, earphones, and other accessories, ending between March 1st and May 30th, to May 31st. Further, the company is also extending its return and replacement period from 15 to 30 days and is providing free two-way shipping for all returns, replacements, and repairs.

Huawei has extended its products’ warranty to June 30th if is expiring between March 21st and June 21st. Making the announcement, Veer Berry, Huawei India’s product marketing and communications head, said: “As a gesture of good faith, we have extended the warranty on all smartphones, smartwatches, headsets, chargers, etc. to 30th June’2020, whose warranty expires between 21st March 2020 to 21st June 2020.”

Similarly, Realme has announced extended warranties and replacement periods. The company said that it has decided to extend the warranty on devices till May 31st, whose warranty was to expire between March 20th and April 30th, 2020. The replacement period of devices has also been extended by 30 days for those customers, who have purchased or will purchase Realme devices from March 15th till April 30th, 2020.

On the other hand, OPPO is also extending warranties across all smartphones and accessories whose warranty has expired during the lockdown period starting March 23rd. This extended warranty will be available till further notice from the company. The extended warranty applies to not only smartphones but also chargers, data cables, earphones, and even the internal battery. It has also extended validity for add-on services such as one-time screen replacement and complete damage protection.
