Yesterday at the Huawei P40 series Chinese launch event, the company also announced Huawei Card, a knock-off of Apple Card. But the details of it are scarce just like its availability.

The newly announced Huawei Card will be available in both virtual and physical versions just like the Apple Card. However, unlike the latter, it will have an annual fee but the company is waiving it for early adopters for the first year. Additionally, those users will be eligible for the waiver of the second-year annual fee by making a certain required amount of transactions.

The Huawei Card in partnership with Union Pay will be NFC-enabled for contactless payments. Apart from the waiver schemes mentioned above, the cardholders can also enjoy cashback offers, VIP lounge access, travel bonuses, and others.

As for security, Huawei assures the Huawei Card and Huawei Pay services will have a robust security system just like its other offerings.

Huawei is yet to reveal the availability of Huawei Cards in its home country China. If it succeeds, the company might introduce it in other markets. The Chinese tech giant’s Huawei Pay service is available only in limited countries, hence Huawei card may not make it to a lot of countries outside of China.
