Last week, Samsung announced the Galaxy A71 5G for the US market and it is slated to go on sale sometime later this summer. This device is planned to launch officially on April 18 in China but it is already up for pre-order in the region. The complete specs of the handset are already out. But now we get to know one more thing and that is the Galaxy A71 5G is the first Samsung phone to feature Goodix in-display fingerprint solution.

Being the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, Samsung was late to adopt in-display fingerprint technology. But soon it caught up unlike Apple, which has shifted to face authentication system. It has been over a year since the first Galaxy with in-display fingerprint sensor launched but the Galaxy A71 5G is the first-ever phone to use a Goodix in-display fingerprint solution.
A number of smartphone companies like Huawei, Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus, and others use Goodix in-display solutions on their devices. But sadly, Samsung is even late to this party but at last, it finally did it.
Talking about other features, the Galaxy A71 5G packs a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O display, 64MP(primary) + 12MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (macro) + 5MP (depth) quad-camera system, 32MP selfie camera, Exynos 980 dual-mode (SA / NSA) 5G chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, 4,500 mAh battery, One UI 2.0 (Android 10), and will be available in three colours – Black, Blue, and Silver.

In the US, the Galaxy A71 5G will retail for $599.99, whereas the Chinese pricing for the phone is 3399 Yuan, which is definitely a tough sell in this region for a phone with mid-range specs.
