Xiaomi‘s independent Redmi brand recently launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Not 9 Pro Max. The Redmi Note 9S was later launched in other markets with similar specs as the Note 9 Pro. No mention has been made of the Redmi Note 9 since then but a TENAA listing for the model has emerged suggesting that the brand may take the wraps off the model soon.
The device hits TENAA with the model number Redmi M2003J15SC. A model bearing this same model number had earlier appeared on China’s 3C website. The TENAA listing reveals the specifications as well as the images of the device.
The Redmi Note 9 is listed to feature a 6.43-inch IPS LCD display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The device is 8.9mm thick and weighs just 198g. The device equally comes with a 4,920mAh battery.
The front and rear designs are similar to those of the Note 9 Pro with a few modifications. First, the device packs a punch-hole located at the upper-left corner as against a centrally placed one. Also, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor just underneath the quad-camera setup. Recall that the Redmi Note 9 Pro models feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi Note 9 is listed to pack a 2.0GHz processor which is possibly a MediaTek Helio G8O chipset. The device will have 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM versions as well as 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. For photography, there is a 48MP main sensor and a 13MP selfie shooter. It will run on Android 10 OS which will definitely have the MIUI custom overlay.
