The Redmi AirDots 2 passed through the Bluetooth SIG certification last week, hinting at an impending launch of a successor for the well-received Redmi AirDots that was made available to the public in 2019.
On Apr. 14, the Xiaomi-owned brand unveiled a new pair of TWS earbuds, surprisingly bearing a different moniker. Redmi decided to deviate from its naming scheme by calling the long-awaited Redmi AirDots successor, the Redmi AirDots S rather than the Redmi AirDots 2.
The Redmi AirDots S retains most of the design elements of the original Redmi AirDots. The company didn’t even come up with a new colorway, sticking to the plain and low-profile black. Nevertheless, the new earbuds are loaded with an array of impressive features.
