MIUI 12 and Mi 10 Youth Edition will be officially announced on April 27 in China. The company has been teasing the features of both since it revealed the launch date earlier this week. Now, out of the blue, Zhang Guoquan, the director of smartphone software development at Xiaomi confirms the rollout of the update will begin on the day of the announcement itself.

Usually, Xiaomi releases a newer version of MIUI in the second half of the year. But this year, the company is set to reveal it in the second quarter itself, probably to celebrate the firm’s 10th-year anniversary.
If that is not enough, the Chinese tech giant may roll out the MIUI 12 update on April 27 itself, the day when it will be unveiled. This info comes directly from Zhang Guoquan, who is responsible for Xiaomi’s mobile software development. Unfortunately, he did not reveal which devices will be getting it first.
This information was exposed all of a sudden when a person on Weibo simply asked whether the update will be released on the day of the press conference. Chinese companies like to tease their fans regarding their upcoming products, so it is not uncommon for Xiaomi to break out the news early.
As for MIUI 12, it will be bringing a new Dark Mode 2.0, 1000+ custom animated AOD (Always-on Display) styles, new camera interface, revamped Settings app, and will even have TÜV Rheinland certification.
