In the past couple of months, more Chinese smartphone manufacturers have announced their own smartwatches. Xiaomi already has two in form of the Mi Watch and Xiaomi Watch COLOR, both of which launched in the last quarter of 2019. OPPO followed suit last month with its OPPO Watch. Realme has also confirmed its smartwatch is coming and it has now been reported that Vivo is already developing its own smartwatch.

Actually, Vivo first revealed that it was going to begin making smartwatches nearly a year ago at its Innovation Day event. However, it didn’t specify when the first of its smartwatches should be expected.

Vivo Smartwatch

According to Digital Chat Station, the Chinese leaker on Weibo, Vivo has already begun the development of its first smartwatch. Sadly, there are no details on the features of the watch or its design. Nevertheless, more details should surface soon.

Based on the above info, we expect the smartwatch to launch this year. We do hope it is not another Apple Watch clone and that Vivo adopts a unique design language. As usual, expect the smartwatch to launch first in China before anywhere else.

Vivo’s AR Glasses

Other non-smartphone products Vivo is planning include AR Glasses and smart headphones. It actually showed a prototype of its AR Glasses at an event last year but has not said anything about availability.
