Vivo has silently unveiled the Vivo Y70s 5G smartphone in China. It has arrived as the first-ever handset to be fueled by Exynos 880 chipset. The other major highlights of the smartphone include a punch-hole screen with a tall aspect ratio, a large internal storage, and 48-megapixel triple rear cameras. With a starting price of 1,998 Yuan (~$280), the Vivo Y70s is the most affordable 5G phone from the brand in the home market.
Vivo Y70s specifications
The Vivo Y70s features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display that offers 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone offers a screen space of 90.72 percent, claims the company.
The display punch-hole houses a selfie camera of 16-megapixel. The smartphone is equipped with a side-facing fingerprint reader. The top-left corner positioned camera setup on the backside of the Vivo Y70s includes a 48-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth effects lens.
Powering the Vivo Y70s is the 8nm Exynos 880 chipset. It comprises of two Cortex-A77 CPU cores clocking at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A53 CPU cores ticking at 1.8GHz along with Mali-G76 MP5 graphics. The Exynos 880 is an under-clocked version of the Exynos 980 5G SoC. The Vivo Y70s features LPPDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.
The Android 10 OS along with FunTouch OS 10 UI comes preinstalled on the Vivo Y70s. The phone is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 18W dual-engine flash charging through MicroUSB. For regulating internal temperature, the handset features liquid cooling technology.
Vivo Y70s price and availability
The Vivo Y70s is listed in two models on the official Vivo China’s online store. Its 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage base model is priced at 1,998 Yuan (~$280) and the higher 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition costs 2,198 Yuan (~$308). Fog Illusion, Starlight Blue, and Moon Shadow Black are the three color variants of the Y70s.
The first sales of the Vivo Y70s will be carried in China on June 1. There is no confirmation on whether the phone will be made available outside China.
