Realme launched its first smart TV in India on May 25 with a starting price of Rs. 12,999 (~$171). The smart TV went on its first sale today and Realme says it was sold out in less than 10 minutes. The company also hinted that over 15,000 units were sold across Flipkart and realme.com. The next round of sales for the Realme TV is billed to hold on June 9.

This is the first time Realme was venturing into the smart TV market and it is a pretty good start. The Realme Smart TV comes in two display sizes — 32-inch and 42-inch. It comes with features like Chroma Boost Picture Engine for enhanced picture quality, 400 nits brightness, 178-degree viewing angle, and HDR 10.

While the 43-inch model comes with Full HD 1080p support while the 32-inch model supports HD resolution. On the hardware side, the models are powered by a MediaTek chipset, the first time we are seeing such in a smart TV in this price segment. The chipset pairs with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Other impressive features onboard include two 12W speakers and 2 x tweeters, Dolby Audio support.Realme Smart TV

For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, three HDMI, two USB ports, SPDIF, DVB-T2, and Ethernet. The smart TV gets its interface from Android TV 9.0 with in-built Chromecast, Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and Live channel.

For $171, these are impressive lineup and we expect the smart TV to break more records in the coming months.
