Sony has officially announced a new date for its expected PlayStation 5 event. The event was initially scheduled to hold on Thursday, 4th June 2020 but was postponed at the 9th hour due to the protests that rocked several cities in the US following the death of George Floyd in the hands of police. The event is now scheduled to start at 1 PM PDT / 9:00 PM BST on June 11.Sony Playstation

Sony had earlier revealed that the event will give us a look at “the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday”. Thus, the company may actually just unveil the console and showcase some of the games coming to the PS5. However, it may still be a while before the Playstation 5 will be available on store shelves.

However, an earlier report says Sony is not expected to reveal details about the next-generation gaming console. The company is expected to hold a few more such events in the coming weeks and months, leading up to the official launch of the PlayStation 5.

Sony has confirmed that the PS5 includes AMD hardware with Zen 2 CPU and Navi GPU, along with super-fast PCIe 4.0 SSD and new data-transfer architecture. The DualSense gamepad has motorized triggers that can provide variable resistance depending on the in-game context and has modern haptics for players to “feel” the games.
