Apple‘s 2020 iPhone models are said to include four different models but in actual sense, the models will come in three display sizes. The iPhone 12 series will feature a 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch variants and a larger 6.7-inch model. The protective case of the 6.1-inch iPhone models have appeared online and it leaves clues of the design. The leak source also confirm the three sizes the next-gen iPhone model will come in.iPhone 12

The protective case is on display alongside the front render of the device. We can expect to see a notch design on this year’s iPhone 12. Apple entered the notch trend back in 2018 with the launch of the iPhone X. As is usual with the US tech giant, the iPhone X’s display notch didn’t just house the front camera and earpiece, it also holds an array of cutting-edge sensors: there’s an infrared camera, flood illuminator, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and dot projector. These are all essential to enable Apple’s secure Face ID authorization system and TrueDepth camera. The iPhone 12 series notch may also bring an array of cutting-edge sensors at the front cut out.

The protective case reveals a square-shaped cut-out at the rear that is due to the shape of the camera module. Going by previous rumour, this is likely the iPhone 12 Pro which will have a triple camera setup and a Lidar sensor at the rear. The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 is rumoured to feature a dual rear camera setup and that won’t likely be on a square-shaped module.

Apple is yet to say when the iPhone 12 series will be launched but there are speculations the launch may take place in October or November. We expect more details of the models to emerge as time goes on.
