According to WHO (World Health Organization), a simple helmet can reduce the risk of fatal injuries by 42 percent and head injuries alone by 69 percent. With E-bikes becoming more popular in China, the helmets have become increasingly crucial for a safer commute. The government has also enforced strict regulations for their use, so this might be a viable option if you’re looking for a new helmet.

The HIMO helmet is currently being crowdfunded on the Xiaomi Youpin platform and is offered in two variants, namely HIMO K1 and HIMO K1M. The former is priced at 99 Yuan while the latter is priced at 109 Yuan (roughly 14 and 16 US Dollars respectively). Both helmets have an outer layer made from ABS hardshell material, with inner linings made from imported EPS buffer materials that act as a sponge.

The only difference between the two models is that the more expensive K1M variant has a windshield protector on the front. This allows users to have a better and uninterrupted vision when riding their bikes. In other words, it offers a clear vision which can be crucial when one is on the road. This shield is also wear resistant and made from PC materials.
