Similar to the 5130, the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic also features an MP3 player and FM radio. Although, the latter can be used wired or wirelessly as well. On the front, a dual front facing speakers can be found, which is the case since the device and its predecessor place an emphasis on listening to your favorite songs on the go. The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic also features dedicated buttons for music, similar to the original.

Through these buttons, the user can adjust the volume, shuffle tracks, and more. The device also boasts expandable storage up to 32GB via a microSD card. Under the hood, a MediaTek MT6260A SoC runs the mobile, which runs Nokia Series 30+ software and also includes the typical physical keypad. It houses 8MB of RAM and an in built storage of 16MB.
