OnePlus has been keeping us guessing concerning its upcoming affordable smartphone but the company put all guessing to rest by announcing that the name will be called OnePlus Nord. The company had been promoting the unannounced model through its OnePlusLiteZThing Instagram account but recently migrated to a new Oneplus.Nord Instagram account. It also announced via the first Instagram page that it would commence pre-orders for the device from tomorrow.

The pre-order programme will be a limited one with just 1100 units of the phone available. Specifically, it commences at 4 am ET on Wednesday, July 1. A countdown already running on the Instagram page. The price still hasn’t been disclosed but Carl Pei had earlier hinted that the Nord will be the brand’s first phone that will retail for under $500.

The Nord smartphone is expected to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset alongside a quad-camera setup. The display will have support for 90Hz refresh rate and there will also be 3W charging onboard.
