Last week, we reported that the Redmi 8 has gotten a fourth price increase in India. Redmi India has now increased the price of the Redmi Note 8 and it is said to be the fifth price hike this year.

The 4GB RAM + 64GB phone which was originally launched with a starting price of INR 9,999 (~$132.97) last year now goes for INR 12,499 (~$166.22). There is a little bit of good news though. The price of the 6GB RAM + 128GB version has not been increased, so that still sells for INR 14,499 (~$193).
