While we had reported on previous rumors that pointed at the possible delay of the Apple iPhone 12 series, it seems that the known chipmaker, Qualcomm, might have just confirmed the reports.

Earlier this week, Qualcomm shared its financial report for Q3 2020 and also shared a few expectations for the next quarter, as per a 9to5Mac report. Here, the chip giant revealed that it expects an impact on Q4 shipments, due to a delay in the launch of a particular 5G flagship smartphone. Furthermore, Qualcomm’s chief financial officer, Akash Palkhiwala stated that a few of its 5G chips, which were slated to ship in September, have been delayed till the end of this year.

Apple

While Qualcomm refrained from directly mentioning any names, Apple seems to be the company in question. Rather, Apple is about the only company known to launch the iPhone traditionally in September. At the moment, the company is expected to launch 4 new iPhone models this year, all of which support 5G networking.  However, the various complications caused by the Coronavirus pandemic might have delayed the launch to late October to even possible early November.
