On July 21, OnePlus held a launch event to announce the OnePlus Nord upper mid-range phone. The handset was made official in Europe and India. At launch, the company had said that the OnePlus Nord will be available for purchase in India starting from Aug. 4. The company has decided to postpone the open sale date. The official forum post by the firm states that the open sales of OnePlus Nord start at 12 PM IST on Aug. 6. Also, a new banner on Amazon India says that OnePlus Nord will go on sale on Aug. 6.
Customers in India who wish to purchase the OnePlus Nord can either visit OnePlus.in or Amazon India. The forum post also states that the OnePlus Nord will be also available for buying through OnePlus Experience Stores and OnePlus Authorized Stores from Aug. 8. Reliance Digital and MyJio Stores will carry out the sales between Aug. 7 and Aug. 12. Other authorized retailers will start with the sales of OnePlus Nord from Aug. 12 in the country.
OnePlus Nord price in India
The OnePlus Nord 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model is priced at Rs. 27,999 (~$372) whereas the higher 12 GB RAM + 256 storage version costs Rs. 29,999 (~$439). Both variants will be available in Gray Onyx and Blue Marble colors. The 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage edition will be available in September in India. Priced at Rs. 24,999 (~$332), this variant will be exclusively available through Amazon India.
OnePlus Nord specifications
The OnePlus Nord has a 6.44-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display that offers 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 765G powers the device with LPPDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. The punch-hole on the screen houses a 32-megapixel (Sony IMX616) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) dual selfie snapper.
The rear shell of the OnePlus has an OIS ready 48-megapixel (Sony IMX586) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 5-megapixel (depth) + 2-megapixel (macro) quad camera setup. A 4,115mAh battery fuels the OnePlus Nord. It can be charged using a 30W fast charger. The phone comes loaded with OxygenOS 10.5 based Android 10 OS. NFC and in-display fingerprint scanner are some of the other features of the OnePlus Nord.
