Galaxy Z Fold 2 Design

Before we dive into the design, you should know that the official name is the Galaxy Z Fold 2, not Galaxy Fold 2. The name is a confirmation that all Samsung foldable devices will be announced under the Galaxy Z series.

With respect to design, the first thing you notice is the significantly larger cover display. It is a 6.2-inch screen, a massive jump from the  4.6-inch panel of the first-gen Galaxy Fold. Gone are those thick bezels too, and in their place is an edge-to-edge Infinity-O display.

The main screen is also bigger now, measuring 7.6-inches, making it just a little bit larger than the 7.3-inch screen of its predecessor. It too is an Infinity-O display with the hole on the right half of the screen. Samsung says it is made with Ultra-Thin Glass for smooth flexibility.

On the back, Samsung has borrowed the design of the Galaxy Note20. There is a huge bump that houses three cameras and an LED flash and just like the Galaxy Note20, there is no laser focus module. The hideaway hinge also looks better on the new Fold.

The Galaxy Fold will be available in just two colorways: Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze. There will also be a Galaxy Z Fold 2 Thom Browne Edition.

Galaxy Z Fold 2 specs

Samsung has kept a tight lip on the full spec sheet of the debice as what we got today was just a partial reveal and not a full launch.

Price and Availability
