At the end of July, Redmi unveiled the Redmi 9A entry-level smartphone in China. The device was introduced in a single version featuring 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. Soon after its announcement, Redmi introduced a new variant for the Redmi 9A that came with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Today, the company announced a new variant of the Redmi 9A that offers 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage.

The Redmi 9A 2GB+32GB edition is priced 499 Yuan (~$73; Rs 5,300), the 4GB+64GB model costs 599 Yuan (~$6,400), and the new 4GB+128GB is priced at 799 Yuan (~$117, Rs 8,600). The sales of the new model will begin on Sept. 15 at 10 AM (local time). In China, the Redmi 9A is available in three colors such as Clear Sky Blue, Sand Black, and Lake Green.

The Redmi 9A entry-level smartphone comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch screen. It supports HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Helio G25 processor fuels the device. It is preinstalled with MIUI 12 flavored Android 10 OS.

It has a front-facing camera of 5-megapixel and its rear is fitted with a single camera of 13-megapixel. It has a 5,020mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging.

In related news, the Xiaomi Redmi 9A is selling in India for Rs 7,499 (~$102) for its 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage variant and Rs. 6,799 (~$93) for its 2 GB RAM + 32 GB storage. Tomorrow, the Chinese firm will be announcing the Redmi 9i phone in India. It will have the same specs as Redmi 9A but will come in higher options like 4 GB RAM + 64 GBs storage and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The base model could be priced at Rs 7,999 (~$109).
