Just eleven months after the Hero 8 was introduced into the market, action camera maker GoPro has launched the GoPro Hero 9 Black. The device comes after several months of anticipation. It also brings along a handful of new features and upgrades.https://gopro.com/en/gb/shop/cameras/hero9-black/CHDHX-901-master.html

Top of the list is the ability of the Hero 9 to shoot videos in 5K resolution as against 4K on previous models. This happens to be the highest resolution we’ve seen yet in a GoPro camera. Aside from that, the new GoPro cam can equally record in 4K, 2.7K, 1440p and 1080p resolutions. The camera can also capture up to 8x slow-mo, or 240 fps.

In terms of the design, the GoPro Hero 9 Black now has a front screen in addition to the rear screen. GoPro says the front screen will help capture selfie angles. Further, it comes with a removable lens and the standard lens can be replaced by GoPro’s Max Lens that widens the Field of View to 155° and has greater stabilization features.GoPro Hero 9 Black

The company also upgraded other features of the camera including a bump up of the battery life by 30%. There are also upgrades to Timewarp and Hypersmooth, more live streaming options and Hindsight – the ability to capture 30 seconds before you press the shutter.GoPro Hero 9 Black

As for the pricing and availability, the GoPro Hero 9 Black comes with a $449.99 (£429.99, AU$699.95) price tag. This is slightly more expensive than the Hero 8 Black’s launch price but the upgrades should make up for the increased price. The camera is available now and comes with a 32gb memory card. It can be purchased more cheaply alongside a GoPro subscription that gives unlimited cloud storage and a camera replacement service.
